Minimalist Momma Life Challenge Update

June 13, 2017

I haven't gotten as much done as I would've liked to at this point, but I'm still working on it and I think that's the key.

I did go a little bit off the book (the workbook, that is). I got Sparrow new clothes (I swore that I'd never buy my kids new clothes, because it's just dumb to me to spend money on clothes at brand new prices when there are so many nice, clean, and good used clothing stores. I.e. Kid to Kid they're my favorite...and that link is the picture of Sparrow that they shared on their page and I felt pretty cool for the day, ha ha ). Anyway, back to what I was saying. I said I wouldn't do it, but she's pretty much outgrown everything that we have unpacked from my sister and my friend Michelle. I do have a few boxes of my sister's that I decided not to open that have bigger clothes in them, because I decided that I want her to have a minimalist closet.

So, when I was at WalMart yesterday getting my husband stuff for his trip, I HAD to stop and look at the baby clothes because I could see from walking by that there  were a bunch of $1 things. So, I got her a few onesies, three t-shirts. three tanks, three pair of shorts for the summer, 2 pair of pants, and one skirt. I also splurged ($3.88) on two nicer onesies for church and special events that she needs to be a little more dressy at. I also have a few onesies already at home that will match the stuff I got her yesterday, but everything she owns can be mixed and matched. I don't have an entire closet, 3 shelves, and a dresser full of clothes anymore (or at least I'm working on that). She has a few pajamas , socks, and bloomers (that also go with everything) and a dress. Other than that, I have already/am getting rid of everything else.

Just because I can't get enough of her, here's a few pictures in one of her "nicer" onesies that she wore to church this morning. Oh my heart can't even handle this little beauty.

This high chair cost $4 at a Garage Sale! I was and am still so excited.
I made the cover with $1 fabric from the clearance section at WalMart and I love it.

My closet is a lot like this now that I've finally downsized it. I'm actually already wanting to clean it out again, it's kind of addicting cleaning it out.

How's your clean out going? I'd love love love to see pictures and hear how your Minimalist Momma Life Challenge is going.
