Friday Favorites #4

May 19, 2017

I thought long and hard about my favorite things this week and I have way too many. I don't know if you have already heard, but my sister and I are now doing the ranch for my parents, with a goal that they can retire soon and not have to work anymore. We just officially started a few weeks ago and I am so excited to be able to work with my family. The Lord has been so gracious to us to allow us to do this together and open this door. We also get to have our girls out there, and even though we found out the hard way that they can't be in the office with us while we are doing "office things" like answering phones. Because when the girls are in there and we say, "Hello, Texas Star this is Lacy how can I help you and then they start screaming at each other (literally just screaming nothing at the top of their lungs) and laughing (repeat that process about 10-15 times) while we are trying to talk to potential clients on the other line...the screaming just doesn't "scream" professional. So, we put on Facebook that we needed a nanny just for the days that we have office hours and we are so excited that the Lord provided that too and it's someone we love and trust.

Those are work-related highlights from this week.

I guess the obvious highlight is always Sparrow. She's seriously the best baby in the whole world and I can't tell you how much I love her. I picked way too many bugs out of her mouth this week (some still alive...poor little guys...I never thought I'd feel bad for a bug). A rock, a few pieces of paper, and a stick. Pretty much anything she can grab goes in her mouth, unless I hand her something for teething and want her to put it in her mouth, then it definitely doesn't go in her mouth. I'm assuming that's a normal baby thing. It seemed to be that way when I worked at the day care. She has a new kitchen that my friend Nikki gave her and she LOVES it and it's adorable to watch her play with it. When she grabs the tiny coffee pot, it melts my heart. Coffee, & Sparrow. The two together are like a dreamy mom day (along with no screaming, crying, full body fits, etc.) HA! Those don't actually happen all the time, but these current teeth coming in are getting some serious hatred vibes from me on a daily basis. I'm ready for her sake for them to just be done coming in. I feel like every mom feels that way at some point or another?

Also, Caleb has started cooking and washing bottles & diapers. Have I told y'all how much I love my husband? Not just for those things, but I love that he likes making vegan stuff now, because he's much more willing to cook so he can try his recipes. I think at this stage in motherhood for me, I would just as soon eat Chipotle every meal of every day so I wouldn't have to cook, but I'm thankful he does. He's basically the best husband ever and I can't even believe the Lord blessed me with him sometimes.

Anyway, I would love to hear your highlights or favorites from this week! What was your favorite thing that happened on Monday?
